New blog installation
So, I did a fresh reinstall of my WordPress installation the other day, and the old posts are gone. This could of course have been avoided, but since I didn’t have anything of value posted, I just cleaned out the entire database and did a fresh install.
Currently I’m working on Capgemini’s Summer of Code project in Trondheim, where I’m having a blast. We’re creating a great product, the team I’m working with is excelent – both technically and socially – and the reception from the employees at Capgemini have also been great.
I’m really learning a lot about a bunch of Microsoft technologies these days, including TeamFoundation Server, Silverlight 3 and .NET in general. I’m going to get down and dirty and write a post about some of my experiences working on the Windows platform again any day now. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a Linux user, and all this Microsoft stuff is pretty new to me, so hopefully there’s going to be quite a lot to write about.

Great to see you finally making some posts again!
It’ll be interesting to hear your input on Visual Studio and the C# language from Microsoft after all the years as a Linux fan. I’m positive you will have good experiences with it, as I have.
Can’t wait to get back to the university again, looking forward to seeing you after the summer.
Nice design by the way, hehe
@Espen Jacobsson
Thanks
I’m certainly gonna have some opinions about working on the MS platform again, both some positive (C#, Visual Studio, WPF/Silverlight etc.) and some rather harsh ones (Team Foundation Server, lack of standards adoptation, lousy naming etc.) but for now I’m gonna suck in some more wisdom before I get all cocky and start whining about stuff I don’t really know that much about
The design is indeed awesome. Great minds think alike eh?
What about your earlier posts Dag Olav? :/
Anyway, make sure to add OpenID support \o/
nvm, I think your OpenID support is already working.
@Roy Sindre Norangshol
Yeah, I was kinda quick to just overwrite everything when I upgraded :p I don’t think any of them contained anything of value anyways, so I’m not the least bothered by it. If you’re missing something from a post give me a hint and I could always try to get it reposted
And yeah, of course OpenID is enabled
Nice to se another post! I’m really looking forward to a rundown of working with a full MS environment. My basic idea (with no experience) is that a full flegded team working only with MS tools is the way to go, just testing Visual Studio and fidlin with C# doesn’t really cut it. My guess is that in the end you are a open source/standards kind of guy, but I’m waiting for the verdict.
Hi Dag Olav
Your new WP looks sweet!
I’m glad you are enjoying the Capgemini Summer of Code project – I’m too! We have luckily been able to get the best and the brightest students NTNU has to offer :p
Looking forward to working with you guys one more month this summer!
Looking forward to read more posts from you, especially on the topic of Silverlight.
